Our Client is a specialist distributor of fire safety and gas detection solutions, supporting commercial, industrial and specialist sectors across Ireland. As part of a larger safety-focused group, the company combines the agility of a local distributor with the backing and infrastructure of a broader organisation.

Info about the Business Development Manager

  • Drive new business acquisition across Ireland, identifying and converting opportunities within contractors, consultants, facilities managers and end users.
  • Develop and execute a structured territory growth plan, using proactive prospecting, networking and industry engagement to build a strong sales pipeline.
  • Build and grow long-term customer relationships, increasing share of wallet and identifying cross-selling opportunities across the full product portfolio.
  • Promote and position fire suppression, gas proving and gas detection systems, providing technical guidance and commercially competitive proposals.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity, representing the business at industry events and feeding back commercial intelligence to management.
  • Achieve agreed sales and margin targets, maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasting pipeline activity and reporting on performance.

Requirements of the Business Development Manager

  • Industry experience in Fire, Gas Detection, Fire Suppression or HVAC-R, with strong technical building services knowledge.
  • Proven new business hunter with a track record of revenue growth.
  • Confident prospector and relationship builder within contractor/distribution channels.
  • Commercially aware negotiator focused on margin and targets.
  • Self-motivated, resilient and effective in a national field-based role.
