Senior Process Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to work on a highly prestigious, cutting-edge wastewater treatment plant, implementing strategies that optimize and manage the treatment processes, leading to greater efficiencies and operational cost reductions. This is an initial 20 to 24 month project, with probable extension thereafter.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Process Engineer

• System Oversight: Monitor wastewater treatment operations to maintain consistent, high-level performance.
• Performance Analysis: Review and interpret operational data to identify trends, resolve issues, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
• Process Enhancement: Develop and apply strategies that improve efficiency, optimize performance, and reduce operational costs.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes align with environmental regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and support long-term system reliability.
• Incident Response: Provide rapid technical support during system failures or emergency situations.

Technical & Operational Duties

• Oversee treatment processes across biological, chemical, and physical systems to ensure they operate within design specifications.
• Manage chemical usage, including safe storage and optimized dosing strategies.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental protection by enforcing procedures and best practices.
• Support and train plant operators and maintenance teams, building capability and sharing expertise.
• Assess wastewater characteristics and determine appropriate treatment methods to meet discharge requirements.

Required Experience of the Senior Process Engineer

• Chemical Process Engineering background.
• Experience working on water treatment plants (either industrial or municipal).
• Previous experience working on wastewater treatment systems – monitoring, improving, optimizing (chemical, biological and physical processes)
