Info about what the Sales Manager role entails

Full ownership of commercial activities across North America — including direct sales, channel sales, and strategic expansion into adjacent markets. Expected to develop and lead territory growth, manage relationships, and proactively build pipeline.

 

The Sales Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Own revenue performance for North America, including meeting multi-million-dollar sales targets.
  • Use a consultative, solution-based sales approach — often engaging with engineers as buyers.
  • Focus 95% of efforts on new market development and non-automotive sales growth.
  • Identify new opportunities for established technology in adjacent verticals.
  • Generate sales directly and through channel partners, including two key distributors based in Detroit.
  • Channel & Partner Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing partners in automotive.
  • Identify and onboard new distributors for untapped markets.
  • Conduct regular partner reviews and ensure sales enablement.

 

Essential Requirements of a Sales Manager

  • Strong technical sales background – ideally selling to engineers or in high-spec sectors.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and entering new markets.
  • Prior experience in consultative solution sales and full-cycle ownership of a territory.
  • Ability to work independently, build pipeline proactively, and manage remote processes.

 

Desirable Requirements of a Sales Manager

  • Technical degree (science or engineering).
  • Experience managing small teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Exposure to complex B2B sales in tech or industrial markets.
  • Ideal candidates come from surveying, mapping, GNSS, or asset tracking backgrounds.
